Desks Tab

The Desks tab indicates the desks on which the user may trade.  To assign a user to a desk, go to the afs:TRADE main menu and select File->Open->Transactor.  Select the transactor.  Click on the Desks tab.   Click the Add button and select the desk to which you want to assign the user.  Desks are created on the Desk Form. A user may set their default desk on the Options Form.

Splits Tab

The Splits Tab (if available) lets you create split transactors, assigning more than one transactor to a particular transactor ID.  The Split % indicates part of a whole, e.g. the part of a commission each member of the split is assigned.   Whenever a new transactor is created, that transactor is assigned as the only item under the split tab, at 100%.  If this new transactor is to represent a split transactor, remove the item automatically assigned in the Splits tab, and Add the transactors that this Split transactor represents.
